Lunoria — Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible
2. The short version
- Lunoria works without an account — there is nothing to register, and no profile of you is created on our side.
- Your birth details, journal, mood check-ins, and the people you add are stored on your device and are not transmitted to us.
- When you use an online feature (daily content, AI readings, chat), the app sends only what is needed to return the result, as described below.
3. Data that stays on your device
The following is stored locally on your iPhone and is not transmitted to us:
- the birth date, time, and place you enter, and the birth chart computed from them (when you use AI features, only the computed positions described in section 4 are sent);
- your journal entries and mood check-ins;
- the birth details of people you add for compatibility readings;
- your settings and preferences.
You can erase all of it at any time with Delete everything in the You tab.
4. Data processed when you use online features
Daily content. To show the free daily reading, the app requests content for a zodiac sign and language. This request carries no birth details.
Personal AI readings and chat. When you request a personal reading or send a chat message, the app sends to our service:
- a compact block of computed chart positions (for example “Sun 23°41' Tau”) — it contains no name, no birthplace, and no birth date or time;
- your chat messages, for chat;
- your language and the current date;
- a randomly generated purchase identifier (see section 5), used to apply plan limits.
This content is processed to generate your reading or reply and to enforce usage limits. We do not store your chat messages. Generated readings are cached briefly so the same reading is not produced twice (see section 8).
Technical data. Like any online service, our infrastructure briefly processes technical connection data (such as IP address) to deliver responses and protect the service against abuse.
5. Purchases
Payments are processed by Apple under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. To recognize your subscription, we process a randomly generated purchase identifier and subscription status. This identifier contains no name, email address, or payment details.
6. Service providers
We use a small number of service providers, acting on our instructions under data processing agreements:

We use no analytics or advertising services in the app.
7. Legal bases
Where the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679), the UK GDPR, or the Swiss FADP applies, we process data:
- to perform our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): delivering readings, chat, and your subscription;
- for our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): keeping the service secure, preventing abuse, applying plan limits, and computing compatibility readings from the details described in section 9.
8. Retention
- Cached personal readings: up to 3 days, or until you use Delete everything.
- Chat messages: not stored — processed to generate the reply.
- Usage counters (plan limits, abuse protection): expire automatically within 90 days.
- Subscription status: kept while needed to recognize your purchase.
- On-device data: under your control, until you delete it.
9. Adding other people
If you add another person’s birth details for a compatibility reading: those details are stored only on your device, are used solely to compute the reading for you, and the person is never contacted or profiled. Only add another person’s details if you are confident they would not mind. You can delete each person individually at any time.
10. International transfers
Our service providers process data in the United States and other countries. Where data is transferred from Switzerland, the EU/EEA, or the UK, safeguards recognized under applicable data protection law — in particular standard contractual clauses — are in place.
11. Your rights and controls
You do not need an account to exercise anything here:
- Delete everything (You tab): erases all data on your device and removes the cached data on our service.
- Export: the You tab lets you export your local data as a file.
- You also have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability. Write to privacy@studiovolt.dev — we answer without undue delay.
- You can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in Switzerland the FDPIC; in the EU/EEA or UK, your local data protection authority.
12. Minors
Lunoria is intended for users aged 16 or over (see the Terms of Service). The app does not allow use by children under 13.
13. Changes
When the app’s data handling changes, this policy is updated and the date above is revised. The current version is always available at https://studiovolt.dev/lunoria/privacy.html.
